The Reynosa Literacy Project
Rise Up And Read in partnership with Solidarity Engineering is working to promote early literacy and attachment in the refugee camps in Reynosa, Mexico through:

Book distribution and reading prescriptions to refugee families

Creation of a library/ safe reading space in a refugee shelter

Patient facing website to be accessed via cell phone with books and associated thought questions for children.
Graduate students in speech pathology, Melissa and Daniela, share their service learning project - and provide an excellent explanation for the linkage between literacy and healthy emotional development.
The Solidarity Engineering team is breaking ground on the new playground. It will contain a safe and comfortable place for reading.
